Discord Embed Widget

The Discord Embed widget loads the Discord web app inside a terminal panel, so you can keep up with servers and DMs without alt-tabbing.

External link handling — links to other sites open in your default browser rather than hijacking the embed

Requirements

This widget requires the CubeTerminal desktop app. Browser security policies prevent Discord from loading in a standard iframe, so the web build shows a "Desktop App Required" fallback with a link to the docs.

If you see the fallback screen, download the desktop build and log in there.

What You Can Do

Read messages across servers and DMs
Send messages, react, reply
Join voice channels (microphone and audio routing are handled by Discord itself)
Copy and paste between Discord and other terminal widgets
Navigate servers, channels, and threads with the built-in Discord UI

What You Can't Do

No deep linking from other widgets — the news feed and trade widgets can't jump to a specific Discord channel or message
No cross-widget alerts — Discord pings don't trigger notifications inside CubeTerminal
No sharing of login state — the embed's session is isolated from any other Discord login you have (browser, desktop app)

First Login

Add the widget to your layout
The embed loads discord.com/app
Log in with your Discord credentials
Your session persists — next time you open the widget you land straight in your servers
