Getting Started

Getting Started

This guide will help you set up CubeTerminal and get trading in minutes.

System Requirements

  • Operating System: Windows 10/11, macOS 10.15+, or Linux
  • Browser: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari (latest versions)
  • Internet: Stable connection for real-time data

Installation

Desktop Application (Recommended)

Download the latest release for your platform:

  1. Visit the Releases (opens in a new tab) page
  2. Download the installer for your operating system
  3. Run the installer and follow the prompts
  4. Launch CubeTerminal

Web Version

Access CubeTerminal directly in your browser at your hosted URL.

Initial Setup

1. Configure Your Layout

When you first open CubeTerminal, you'll see the default layout with essential widgets:

  • Chart - Price chart with technical analysis tools
  • Order Book - Real-time bid/ask depth
  • Trade Entry - Place orders
  • News Feed - Aggregated news stream

You can customize this layout by:

  • Dragging widgets by their header to reposition
  • Resizing widgets by dragging their edges
  • Adding new widgets from the Widget Gallery (open the command palette with Ctrl + K or /, or use the function-key toggles F2F8)
  • Removing widgets with the X button
  • Detaching widgets into their own window for multi-monitor setups

2. Connect Your Exchange

  1. Click the Settings button (gear icon) in the top right
  2. Navigate to Trading Accounts
  3. For the API-key venues (Bybit, Binance, Bitget), enter your credentials:
    • API Key
    • API Secret
    • (Optional) Passphrase if required
  4. Click Connect

The wallet-based venues connect differently — no API key at all: Hyperliquid authorizes an agent wallet, Phoenix signs in with a Solana wallet, and Arcus registers a trading key with one wallet signature. Each guide walks through it; all three end in popup-free order signing.

⚠️

Security Note: Always use API keys with trading permissions only. Never share your API secret. Consider using IP whitelisting on your exchange.

3. Set Up News Sources

To receive real-time news:

  1. Open SettingsNews Sources
  2. Add your API keys for:
    • Bark - Premium news feed
    • TreeNews - Real-time alerts
    • Twitter - Social media feed
    • Telegram - Channel aggregation
  3. Enable the sources you want to use

See the News Sources guide for detailed setup instructions.

4. Configure Alerts

Set up keyword alerts to never miss important news:

  1. In the News Feed widget, click Highlights
  2. Add keywords you want to track (e.g., "BTC", "ETH", "airdrop")
  3. Enable sound alerts for breaking news
