TreeNews Source
TreeNews delivers real-time crypto news and alerts from Tree of Alpha (opens in a new tab) over a low-latency WebSocket. It aggregates Twitter, blogs, Telegram, and exchange listings.
Available Feeds
TreeNews (Main)
- Twitter, blogs, and Telegram coverage
- Major announcements and general market updates
- Endpoint:
wss://news.treeofalpha.com/ws
TreeNews (Tokyo)
- Low-latency Binance and Bybit listing alerts
- Optimized for Asian trading hours
- Endpoint:
ws://tokyo.treeofalpha.com:5124 - Requires subscriber access
Getting Access
- Visit tree.news (opens in a new tab)
- Create an account and subscribe
- Generate your API key from your account settings
A single key authenticates every feed your subscription includes.
Configuration
- Open Settings → News Sources
- Under Add New Source, choose TreeNews (Main) or TreeNews (Tokyo)
- Paste your API Key
- Click Add Source
Add both as separate sources for round-the-clock coverage.
Reconnect & Gap Replay
If a TreeNews connection drops, CubeTerminal reconnects automatically and backfills the items you may have missed from Tree of Alpha's public REST endpoint. Replayed items are marked as late so they aren't mistaken for live headlines or counted in latency stats.
News Format
TreeNews items display:
- Source badge — green "TREENEWS" (Main) or orange "TREENEWS-TOKYO"
- Content — news text
- Tickers — detected symbols, clickable to trade
- Timestamp — publication time
Best Practices
- Enable Main for broad global coverage
- Add Tokyo for fast exchange-listing alerts
- Combine with keyword highlights to surface the terms you care about
TreeNews Tokyo requires a subscription tier that includes low-latency listing access. Check Tree of Alpha for details.
